What to expect

The application process occurs online and has the following steps. There is no cost to apply for funding.

  1. Verify your eligibility.
  2. Create an account with Lumni, our secure ISA application and servicing partner.
  3. Submit your application, which should take approximately 30 minutes to an hour.
    • The application requires the following information:
      • Basic contact information (name, phone number, mailing address, etc.)
      • Basic academic information (school, major, estimated date of degree, part-time/full-time status, grade level)
      • Citizenship status
      • Amount of funding requested
      • The names and contact information for two references who have known you for at least five years (family members, friends, professors, work colleagues, or other contacts). We may contact these references in the future if you change your contact information without notifying us.
    • As part of the application you must authorize us to view your credit history. There is no credit score requirement for Opportunity ISA funding; however, significant adverse credit events (for example, bankruptcies and foreclosures) can affect your eligibility.
  4. Accept the terms of your Opportunity ISA funding.
  5. We contact your school to verify your enrollment and academic status. This process could take several business days depending on how quickly your institution's financial aid office is able to process this request.
  6. Review the terms of your ISA one more time. After a three day waiting period, we can then disburse funding to your institution on your behalf.
